POLOKWANE – Polokwane residents had front-row seats to Sunday night’s total lunar eclipse, which lit up the sky in shades of crimson and orange.
From about 18:30, residents watched as Earth’s shadow slowly crept across the moon.
By 19:30, the eclipse reached its peak, leaving the moon glowing a dramatic red hue in some areas and a burnt orange in others.
The celestial show lasted five hours, 10 minutes and 38 seconds, giving stargazers ample time to admire the spectacle.
Many readers captured the rare event from their homes and neighbourhoods, sharing their best shots with the Polokwane Review.
