POLOKWANE – Insiders within the ANCYL in Limpopo have confirmed that a case was opened at a police station in Kimberley today in connection with the shooting of a Provincial Executive Committee member of the youth league on Tuesday morning.

Spokesperson Abia Makola said they are still compiling a media statement to officially convey the news, while others indicated that the name of the member will only be released once the family has been formally informed.

The member, reportedly from Vhembe, was shot and killed while travelling in the Northern Cape for a league meeting to prepare for the second National General Council (NGC).

The NGC meeting is scheduled to start on Wednesday and conclude on Friday.

This is a developing story.
