Westenburg Secondary wins Limpopo u/19 Kay Motsepe Championship
Westenburg Secondary School is heading to the national finals of the Kay Motsepe Schools Championship after being crowned Limpopo's u/19 champions.
POLOKWANE – Westenburg Secondary School has been crowned the Limpopo u/19 champions of the Kay Motsepe Schools Championship after securing a 2-0 victory against Maneledzi Secondary School in the finals, hosted at Northern Academy Primary School on Saturday.
This win earns them the honour of representing Limpopo at the national competition.
The Kay Motsepe Schools Championship, launched 21 years ago, features u/13 girls, u/13 boys and u/19 boys categories.

Nine provincial finals are held across the country, with winners advancing to the nationals to compete for the overall title.
The ultimate prize is significant: the national u/19 boys’ champions will receive R3m for infrastructure development, while the winners of the u/13 categories take home R1m for the same purpose.

According to Sello Mabitsela, chairperson of Limpopo Schools Football, 10 schools participated in the Limpopo leg of the tournament, representing each district in the province.
He praised the talent and potential showcased during the competition.
