POLOKWANE – The Sebayeng police have arrested a 39-year-old man in connection with an attempted murder incident that occurred in Mmadiga Village, Ga-Dikgale, on Saturday (October 4).
According to the Limpopo police, officers responded to a domestic violence complaint at around 17:00 and on arrival, found a 25-year-old woman lying unconscious in a pool of blood.
She was rushed to a local hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Police spokesperson Col Malesela Ledwaba said preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly accused the woman of infidelity before attacking her with an unknown object during a heated argument.
“The suspect was arrested at the scene and is expected to appear before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of attempted murder,” his statement read.
The provincial police commissioner, Lt Gen Thembi Hadebe, condemned the attack, urging victims and communities to seek help before conflict turns violent.
“Domestic violence has no place in our society. We appeal to couples to seek help from professionals instead of resorting to violence,” she said.
