Tributes pour in for Limpopo mechanic Vincent ‘Black’ Netshifhefhe

Limpopo’s motor community is mourning the passing of Vincent Netshifhefhe, a respected artisan known for his expertise in Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

POLOKWANE – They say that blood is thicker than water, but some friends are more loyal than family, and that’s how many people felt about Limpopo artisan and entrepreneur Vincent ‘Black’ Netshifhefhe, who recently passed away after a short illness.

Affectionately known as ‘Vince’ by colleagues, clients, employees and the motor industry at large, Netshifhefhe’s passing has left a void.

His mother, Mokgadi, told BONUS that many of his clients are devastated, especially those who relied on his expertise in servicing luxury vehicles, particularly Mercedes-Benz models.

“I’m going strong for the sake of the family,” she said. “I felt better after seeing his body, knowing that he’s resting, and I’m now at peace. He had such a special bond with my mother, his grandmother – he always supported her financially without being asked, surprising her with visits or slipping money under the door whenever he passed by in Venda, Tshakuma, where he grew up and was laid to rest.”

Mokgadi described her son as kind-hearted, dedicated to creating employment and mentoring others.

“He worked closely with another legendary artisan, Samuel Manamela. They were together at Mercedes-Benz and later at Vince’s Motors after Manamela retired. Vince was always willing to help others,” she said.

Manamela, who turns 80 in December, told BONUS that in the natural order of life, it should have been Netshifhefhe who buried him. “It’s heartbreaking. He was like a son to me,” he said.

A memorial service, organised by his clients and friends, was held at Serala Park in Polokwane last Thursday.

“We wish his wife, children, and the entire family peace, strength, and healing during this difficult time. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
