Mild week ahead for Polokwane with rain expected

Polokwane residents should expect milder temps, cloudier skies and possible afternoon storms this week.

POLOKWANE – Residents in Polokwane should prepare for a change in the weather as the city heads into a milder and cloudier week ahead.

According to AccuWeather’s forecast, daytime highs are expected to stay in the low to mid-twenties.

Tuesday will be the warmest day of the week at 27°C, while Monday will be the coolest at 22°C.

Although no major weather warnings are in effect yet, the week will feature increased cloud cover and the possibility of showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoons.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday all have a high probability of thunderstorms with a 65%, 95% and 55% chance respectively.

These scattered storms could bring brief downpours, gusty winds and reduced visibility in places.

Meanwhile, the city is in for a cloudy and mild weekend with a cool 20°C start on Friday, warming up to 25°C on Saturday and Sunday.

Night and early-morning lows will remain comfortable in the low to mid-teens, making for pleasant evenings.

Residents are advised to watch the sky and keep an umbrella handy.
