Sekhukhune man arrested for killing elder brother

A 36-year-old man is expected to appear in court after his 62-year-old brother was stabbed to death at their home in Sekhukhune.

LIMPOPO – A 36-year-old man is expected to appear in the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court today (January 29), in connection with the murder of his 62-year-old brother in Sekhukhune.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the incident was discovered on Tuesday night at a residence in Praktiseer under the Tubatse policing area.

Police were responding to a report about a man found dead in his bedroom, where they found the victim lying on his back with multiple stab wounds and other visible injuries.

He was certified dead at the scene.

Following inspections and further investigations, the victim’s younger brother was linked to the murder and arrested. The weapon believed to have been used in the attack was also confiscated.

The motive for the killing is still unknown, but domestic-related violence is being considered.
