Seshego community celebrates bail denial in murder case

POLOKWANE – The Seshego Magistrate’s Court has denied bail to Comfort Bafana Mongalo, accused of murdering Mpho Johanna Lefakgomo, citing concerns for community safety.

The decision follows a petition handed over by local organisations, demanding the accused be denied bail.

“The court has taken a significant step towards ensuring justice is served. We stand against violence targeting women and children, and we’re committed to making sure the court hears our voices,” said Originia Mafefe, ANCWL PEC member.

Seshego women take a stand for justice and protection of all victims.

Residents welcomed the ruling, hoping it marks a turning point in the fight against gender-based violence. The case has been postponed to April 15.

The community’s determination to see justice served is clear, and this decision is seen as a victory in their quest for safety and accountability.
