Mongalo’s bail bid continues in Seshego
Seshego court hears second bail application for man accused of killing partner Mpho Johanna Lefakgomo as community protests against GBV.
POLOKWANE – On April 15, the accused Comfort Bafana Mongalo appeared at the Seshego Magistrate’s Court for his second bail application in connection with the murder of his 38-year-old partner, Mpho Johanna Lefakgomo, whose body was later found dumped in the bushes of Mashashane Newlands.

Outside the court, community members from Mashashane Newlands, together with local organisations including Fearless Voices of Ward 9, joined the family in protest against the bail application.
Through chants and placards, they sent a strong message that enough is enough with gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF).
The state has opposed the bail application, reinforcing the community’s concerns. Bail proceedings are expected to begin on April 23.
