Shebeshxt seeks bail for surgery
Musician Shebeshxt appears in Polokwane Magistrate's Court for a new bail application, saying he needs urgent surgery on his injured leg.
POLOKWANE – Musician Lehlogonolo ‘Shebeshxt’ Chauke appeared at the Polokwane Magistrate Court for a new bail application with new facts.
Chauke, with his new legal representative, Michael Khumalo, brought the first witness to the dock, Dr Malose Phillip Chaba, who testified to the court that Chauke needs an urgent operation on his right leg and shoulder as the screw holding his bones in the leg is loosening.

This follows his motor vehicle collision in June 2024.
However, in his facts late last year, he mentioned that he is losing money from his bookings as he could not perform following his arrest and bail denial.
Chaba also noted he visited Chauke at the Correctional Service and as a visitor, however he could not assess him and he could only ask how he was.
“His response was that he’s in pain and talked much about the loss of his daughter,” he said.

Chaba told the court that he last assessed Chauke on November 11 last year and gave him pain medication, and was arrested the following day November 12.
Chauke’s bail proceedings continue and his affidavit is to be read.
