UPDATE: Police confirm armed robbery in Industria

Police are investigating an armed robbery in Industria after a man who had just withdrawn cash from a bank was robbed at gunpoint.

POLOKWANE – Police have launched an investigation following an armed robbery at a business premises in Industria earlier today (June 9).

According to preliminary reports, the victim had withdrawn money from a bank in Bendor, Platinum Park, and then proceeded to his workplace on Industria Street.

Upon arriving at the premises at about 10:45, and before he could exit the company vehicle he was driving, he was approached by two men.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the perpetrators robbed the victim of an undisclosed amount of cash, as well as his cellphone, before fleeing the scene in a white Toyota Corolla with registration number DFM 549 L.

Investigation underway

A case of armed robbery has been opened, and efforts to trace and apprehend the suspects are underway.
