Polokwane Mayor John Mpe has handed over 14 sedans and two firefighting vehicles to boost traffic enforcement and emergency response in the city.

POLOKWANE – City Mayor John Mpe officially handed over 14 sedans and two firefighting vehicles to the municipality’s traffic and licensing department and fire and rescue unit earlier today.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mpe said the municipality remains committed to serving residents and strengthening service delivery through investment in its own operational capacity.
“These vehicles parked before you are evidence that we are translating the commitment that we made in changing Polokwane for the better,” he said.
Mpe emphasised that the newly acquired vehicles belong to the people of Polokwane and called on municipal officials to use them responsibly.
“These assets belong to the people of Polokwane as well. Use them with discipline, professionalism and integrity. Protect them as custodians of the public trust,” he said.

The mayor also highlighted the importance of maintaining a clean and well-managed city, urging officials to lead by example.
He called on residents to continue partnering with the municipality by obeying traffic laws, safeguarding public infrastructure and reporting wrongdoing.
“Let us work together to build communities anchored in responsibility and mutual respect,” Mpe added.
The handover took place at the traffic and licensing department in Ladanna and forms part of the municipality’s ongoing efforts to improve its capacity to deliver essential services to residents.
The addition of the new vehicles is expected to strengthen both traffic law enforcement and emergency response capabilities across the municipality.
