Man arrested after R900k stolen goods recovered in Groblersdal

A 45-year-old man has been arrested after police recovered R900 000 worth of stolen items linked to a business burglary in Groblersdal.

LIMPOPO – A 45-year-old male suspect is expected to appear in the Motetema Magistrate’s Court after police recovered property valued at approximately R900 000 linked to a business burglary in the Groblersdal policing area.

He faces charges of business burglary and possession of stolen property.

Intelligence-led operation

Police followed up on information received on Tuesday, June 16, about a motor vehicle in the Motetema policing area suspected to have been used in the commission of a crime.

Members of the Sekhukhune Tracking and Investigation Team, supported by Motetema police, Ratel TJ Security, and Farm Watch, immediately acted on the information.

Vehicle stopped and searched

While conducting a search in the area, a bakkie was spotted, stopped, and taken to Motetema police station for further questioning along with the driver.

Follow-up information led to a house where the stolen goods were being stored. Upon arrival, a woman at the premises granted police access to search the property.

A search resulted in the recovery of stolen items valued at R900 000.

  • Grinders and drills
  • Battery-operated drill and grinder
  • Chainsaw
  • 4 x batteries
  • 9hp Seaton outboard
  • 3.6hp Parsons outboard
  • 2 x 28hp outboards
  • 25hp outboard
  • 2 x electric trawling motors
  • Weed eater
  • Tool bag and toolbox
  • Off-road motorcycle
