2023 PEMPS prefects are ready for the challenge ahead

Headgirl Mahlori Mabunda and headboy Mohau Mangena said they look forward to ensure that they keep instilling discipline and encourage hard work at the school.

POLOKWANE – PEMPS introduced its prefects for the next academic year with an induction on November 3.

Prefects are elected to perform certain duties, giving them some authority at school. They act as a bridge between the teachers and their fellow learners.

Their duties are not limited to one thing and will include assisting teachers in their lessons, supervising classes and organising activities, leading assemblies and maintaining order at the school.

Candidates were chosen on qualities that included being positive, always encourage others, hardworking, good grades, punctuality and good attendance record.

Leaders who were inducted had to make sure that they understand what their roles entail and what their plan of action is.

Principal Desiré Conradie said she wishes all the class representatives the best in their new roles and encouraged them to exercise their leadership to the best of their abilities.

“These roles are important and I wish that everyone of them take pride and ensure that we work together to strive for a good teaching and learning environment.”

Deputy headgirl Malefo Ratau and deputy headboy Kidus Sintayehu also added that they are excited to take on their new roles next year.
