Curro Heuwelkruin hosts winning sports week

Kruinies celebrated Founder’s Day with a week of rugby and netball, hosting other local and provincial schools.

POLOKWANE – Rugby and netball players from Curro Heuwelkruin had an exciting week of sport when they were the hosts to visiting schools.

In celebration of Founder’s Day, Curro’s first rugby team challenged the team from Ortloff’s Preparatory School from Mokopane and took the honours with a score of 44-0.

Siyanda Zilimbola scored the first try and it was followed up with eight more tries. The u/9s and u/11s also won their matches with scores of 20-0 and 32-12, respectively.

Rugby and netball players from Duiwelskloof Primary School also paid a visit to Curro and Duiwelskloof’s u/9s and u/11Bs won their matches with scores of 29-17 and 55-0.

Duiwelskloof’s u/11A team scored 34-27 against the hosts and also won the first team match with a score of 42-12.

Netball was also on the menu and Curro’s u/10A team beat Duiwelskloof with a score of 3-1 but lost against Ivypark Primary School by 5-2.

Curro’s u/10B team lost 6-0 against Ivypark and won 4-3 against Duiwelskloof.
