I write this letter because I am extremely irritated by the manner in which our municipality treats us. I have lost the very little confidence I had left in our municipality.

I reside in Seshego and for the past two or three weeks we have experienced power outages and water supply problems almost daily.

It is not the first time this happens and I understand that glitches do happen, but informing residents of such power and water supply cuts in advance would go a long way in saving our appliances. It will also help us store water in time for the times when there is no water.

It is shameful that a municipality, that is perceived as one of the most hard working in the province, fails to make use of at least one of the cheapest and most basic platforms such as community radio stations and publications to inform residents of very crucial information that could save us money of constantly fixing geysers, stoves, television sets and fridges. How is an individual in a big township like Seshego supposed to get by with no electricity and water supply at the same time?

It is high time our municipality stepped out of the dark ages and started using technology, applications and social networks to convey crucial messages to residents. Their incompetence is costing us in the long run.
