Arrive Alive: festive message from roads and transport MEC
Our province will, in the coming few days, experience a heavy influx of traffic coming from all corners of the country and Southern Africa, mostly heading towards Moria for the Christmas pilgrimage.
Our province will, in the coming few days, experience a heavy influx of traffic coming from all corners of the country and Southern Africa, mostly heading towards Moria for the Christmas pilgrimage.
Others will be going home to be with their loved ones while some will be heading to different holiday destinations in the province.
As we welcome everybody to our province, we implore road users to exercise extreme caution as our roads will be extremely busy.
This festive season we will be enforcing “Operation Thibela Kotsi” through which all our traffic officers will be visible throughout the provincial roads.
This will ensure compliance to road traffic and safety rules.
We will have no mercy on those road users who disregard the road rules. Let us all drive with caution to reduce the carnage that bedevils our roads.
I wish every road user a happy and accident-free festive season.
Don’t drink and drive, don’t text and drive, don’t drink and walk, and always buckle up and adhere to the speed limit.
Arrive alive. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.
