Importance of spending precious resources wisely to succeed

At this time of the year, time is a critical resource or all people.

We all have 365 days or 12 months in a year, four weeks in a month, seven days in a week and 24 hours in a day, nothing more, nothing less.

Even the most successful people, who have made several millions, did so within the time that we all have in common.

You might ask, what is the difference between the highly successful and not successful? In most cases successful people understand the following about time:

• That it is limited and that every minute of it counts. That is why there is a need to use it wisely.

• Once it’s gone, it’s gone and can never be recovered.

• In terms of business, it is not about the amount of hours that you spend on the business, but the amount of value that you apply with the amount hours that you have.

If we do not treat time with the respect that it deserves and honour every minute of it, then we are likely to continue getting the same mediocre results that we have been getting all along.

Statistics show that an average businessman spends 90% of his time on non-productive activities. In other words, by merely shifting focus a little in terms of what your business mostly requires, you are not going to get the same results.

A business has big components which serve as pillars that one needs to take care of. As a business owner, it is your duty to differentiate between the big and small components and focus on the areas which have the most impact on your business. The smaller components can be delegated to some of your managers or employees.

This is just one of the reasons I would recommend for every businessman or entrepreneur to get themselves a business coach who will help to identify areas of greater impact in your business and how to go about dealing with them accordingly.

If not, we will remain lost and not know what it is that we can be putting more focus on in as far as our businesses are concerned.
