Don’t try to strive to be the best of the best, simply be better

The fastest human being can run a top speed of 23 km/h, while a bear can run 64 km/h. To get away from the bear does not mean that you have to be the fastest runner.

The fastest human being can run a top speed of 23 km/h, while a bear can run 64 km/h. To get away from the bear does not mean that you have to be the fastest runner.

Instead, you just have to be better than any other runner.

Too many businesses that I come across present themselves as being the best in their field.

The sad reality is no business can ever truly be the best in allaspects of business including quality, service and features.

If this question has been a concern to you in the past, I have news for you. In order to make a serious breakthrough in your field, you don’t need to be the best, you just need to be better than others.

If you are the best:

• There is no incentive for you to push harder;

• You are not motivated to be innovative, and

• laziness creeps in.

Let us explore the opposite, being better.

When you are better, you are driven to offer better services than any of the other providers in your field.

This is exactly what we do at Afr8, we never intend to be the best although we really go at it with all we have, but we believe that there is always room for improvement.

This approach always ensures that you are on your toes at all times.

Given the bear example: you know there’s a bear behind you and unless you become better than other runners, you risk being eaten up.

Keep pushing, learning and improving because there is always room for improvement, not to mention the huge bear running behind you!
