Where will the young vote go during the 2014 elections?

I am an 18-year-old student and I recently registered to vote

I am an 18-year-old student and I recently registered to vote. This will be my first time voting and I am excited about it. But I am not sure who to vote for. Although some parties appeal to me, I am not sure I agree with their approaches. Encouraging protests in communities that are unhappy with service delivery is no way to get anyone’s attention.

Getting things done is going to take a while and people need to be patient with the process. The ruling party is not innocent either.

But they shouldn’t be judged based on their leadership. After all, there will be new leadership in five years who will make the same mistakes if not more. The same goes for all parties.

So I have decided to base my vote on the party that promises me the things that I want for my future and for the future of my children. It does not matter what so and so failed to do 20 or five years ago, what’s important to me is what they can do in the future. It does not matter if so and so are not ready to lead the country, what matters is are they willing to learn.

May the best man or even woman, win.
