Review spoke to several residents to find out what they wanted to gain by voting.
Violet Nkuna said she believed that the party she voted for would provide citizens with jobs if it won the general elections. “Young people are suffering in the province and that is why they end up getting involved in criminal activities. Communities need proper services as well, and it is the ruling party’s duty to make sure that its people are happy,” she said.
Selaelo Rangongo said she wanted the party she voted for to create jobs and provide free education for students at higher learning institutions so that the country could have skilled people.
Monate Mokgokong said he believed that the party he voted for could do away with corruption and create more construction jobs so that people could earn money to to put food on their tables.
Rodney Semenya also emphasised that he believed the party he voted for would not abandon its people when it was in power.
“Lack of job opportunities is the reason why young people engage in criminal activities. I believe that the party I voted for will create jobs and minimise crime,” he said.
He said he believed he did not vote for corrupt people.
