Will Baroka FC collect 3 points?

BAROKA FC has made it four wins in four home matches when they defeated bottom of the log Roses United 4-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday afternoon, but it is their shaky away record which will haunt them when they visit African Warriors at the Charles Mopeni Stadium on Sunday.

After collecting maximum points in three consecutive home games recently, Baroka lost 2-0 to Jomo Cosmos in an away game last week. Bakgaga has struggled to win away matches and with African Warriors’ tails high following their 3-1 win over log leaders Chippa United on Sunday, Baroka will have to be at their best to bring home the three points.

Baroka’s last win in an away match was a 3-1 victory over Sivutsa Stars back in January and prior to that the Sello Chokoe-coached club had gone three away matches without a victory, losing two and drawing the other.

With only six points separating them with run-away leaders Chippa United, a win for Baroka will announce them as strong contenders for automatic promotion to the Premier Soccer League.

Bakgaga has been boosted by the availability of experienced striker, Mpho Maleka who played the entire match against Roses United.

The former Moroka Swallows and Mpumalanga Black Aces goal-poacher missed the better part of the season due to injury.

The club’s captain and leading goal scorer, Gift Mothupa is also expected to be back after missing the clash against Roses United.

In another National First Division match to be played on Saturday, Black Leopards will lock horns with Sivutsa Stars at the Giyani Stadium. Lidoda Duvha lost 2-1 against Thanda Royal Zulu on Saturday.
