JKA karatekas bring medals home
Eight karatekas from JKA Pietersburg Karate Club represented Limpopo at the JKA South African championships in Johannesburg recently.
POLOKWANE – Eight karatekas from JKA Pietersburg Karate Club represented Limpopo at the JKA South African championships in Johannesburg recently.
Five karatekas from Pietersburg Karate club brought medals home.
• Yolandi Vorster – u/21, bronze for kata.
• Cornia Claassens – u/11, silver for kata and bronze in free fighting.
• Louise Stoltz – u/17, silver for free fighting.
• Costley Maoto – veteran, bronze for free fighting.
• Rudolph Myburgh – bronze for free fighting.
Piet van Rensburg, karate instructor at the club, said these championships were held annually and he only selected the best of the best from his club to compete there.
He said more than 1 000 karatekas competed in these championships.
