Baroka adds Mathebula, Vries to squad

Baroka Football Club has added seasoned midfielder David Mathebula and Namibian International goalkeeper Virgil Vries to their 2017/18 squad for the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Bakgakga also promoted key players from their development team Godman Mosele, Kagiso Selemela and Rebone Ntswane to the first team.
Mathebula was born at Bungeni village eka-Mtswetweni, near Elim and previously played for Dynamos Football Club, Kaizer Chiefs, Mpumalanga Black Aces, Moroka Swallows, Super Sport United and has two Bafana Bafana caps.
Virgil Vries joins the club from Maritzburg United having played for Golden Arrows Football Club, Eleven Arrows from Namibia, Orlando Pirates Football Club and Carara Kicks Football Club in the past.
Spokesperson for the club, Jimmy Ngobeni said they were satisfied with all the players signed for the season and won’t be adding to the squad. “We released 15 players and signed 13 and that is enough. We have covered all the areas that needed attention and we can’t wait for the new season,” he said.
He pointed out that they will be celebrating the Club’s 10th anniversary at Seleteng village in Ga-Mphahlele on 9 August. “We will also unveil the new players to our supporters, the public and general members of the community on the day. We urge all supporters of Baroka to come and witness the historic event,” Ngobeni said.
