Lim Impala Cricket awards servants of the game

Limpopo Impala Cricket and KFC, founder of the mini cricket programme, on Saturday acknowleged coaches who are playing a pivotal role in developing aspiring cricketers through KFC Mini Cricket.
The programme, first introduced 35 years ago by Cricket South Africa and aiming at giving aspiring cricketers first taste of cricket, has drawn over 2 million children to date.
This softball level programme gives the children the enjoyment that comes with participating in a team sport and also gets them acquainted with the basics of the game including batting, bowling and fielding.
Adam Shai from Nkowankowa was recognised for having served 21 years in the programme and Tereshia Bopape from Mankweng received the Long Service award for having dedicated 30 years to the programme.
Patric Mabasa from Giyani was named Most Improved Coach in the area while Tshepo Pudikabekwa from Mankweng walked away with the Best Newcomer award.
Congratulating the recipients, Provincial KFC Mini Cricket Coordinator Rejoice Phosa said they were proud to have such dedicated and passionate coaches in the programme. “They have been doing very well since the inception of the programme. We hope that they will continue with the same vigour in the coming years and inspire the younger generation to grow interest in coaching,” Phosa said.
