There was action galore at Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday when local golfers took to the greens in two separate contests, aiming to accumulate as many points as possible and claim the prizes at stake.
The first tournament which was sponsored by Eagar Aquatics saw Koeskie Eager occupying the first spot in women’s division with 31 points. She was followed by Luanie van Rooyen with 30 points while Naomi Molepo settled for the third place with 29 points on a count in.
In the men’s division, Louis Opperman made his opponents eat dust as he finished first with 45 points while Freek Schutte claimed the second position with 41 points and Theo Allison also ascended the stage to receive a prize for finishing on the third spot with 40 points.
Allison, Molepo and Schutte were awarded again for playing nearest to pin eight, 11 and 16 respectively while Gail Wynne played nearest to pin four. Charles Oliver made the jackpot lucky draw at holes two, 13, 15 and 18.
The jackpot, which was standing at 1 890 units with 1 512 payable, was won by Morne Myburgh.
In the second tournament which was a Club Day, Zach Chuenyane proved that practice does make perfect as he displayed best skills on the course and accumulated most points to finish first with 42 points.
Belinda Schutte occupied the second spot with 40 points on a count-in while Dirk Visagie finished on the third place with 40 points on a count out.
