With only two matches to go before the National First Division (NFD) comes to an end, Black Leopards Football Club is in need of points in order to qualify for the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Promotional play-offs set for May.
Lidoda Duvha, currently in second position of the NFD with 47 points, are searching for points against Highlands Park and Jomo Cosmos in order to fight for the PSL status in the play-offs.
Tshifiwa Thidiela, managing director of the club, said despite being a point away from the play-offs there was a need to be professional and approach the last two matches like the first of the season. “We must not relax, we are aware that we are almost there but we still need to be professional. The last two remaining matches are going to be difficult. Highlands Park has won the division and that makes the match even tougher. They are going to field fringe players who want to prove a point and secure contracts for next season. It always tough playing against those type of players,” Thidiela said.
Thidiela promised supporters that they will be strong competitors in the play-offs and ensure that they retain the PSL status they lost in 2012. “We are definitely going to qualify for the play-offs, we are sure of that. We want to do well, we have been there the last four seasons and failed to secure PSL status. We have learnt a lot from that experience and this time we promise our fans that we will fight and ensure that we are in the league next season,” Thidiela stated.
