A life time opportunity for basketball players

Limpopo Basketball Association (LBA) is offering aspiring basketball players in the province an opportunity to be part of their first basketball team, Limpopo Pride.
The team will compete at the 2018 season of the National Basketball League set to start in August.
Interested players are invited to come for team’s trials to take place at the Nirvana basketball courts on Saturday. The trails will start at 9:00 and hopefuls are advised to bring along their own playing kit, meals and refreshments.
LBA Chairperson, Gazani Khoza said players aged 17 and older are welcome to join the trials.
“We want to give everyone a chance to be part of the team. We are looking for players who are committed to the cause, who are hungry and ready to represent the province. We have raw talent in the province and I think we can come up with a good team,” Khoza said.
He added that they wanted to do well this year and finish the season in a decent position.
“Last season we did not perform well because of poor preparations. It was one of our worst seasons and we want to improve. I think if we prepare well and work together as a team we can achieve the desirable results,” Khoza stated.
LBA head coach, Tumelo Mapela, a technical team and former players are expected to oversee the trials.
