Former Orlando Pirates and Super Sport United Football Club midfielder, Thendani Ntshumayelo signed for Baroka Football Club on Monday.
Ntshumayelo was banned from playing football for four years after testing positive for a banned substance.
Chairman of Baroka Football Club, Khurishi Mphahlele believes the 28-year old can help the team to finish the league in a good position.
Baroka is currently in the 15th position of the league with 21 points after 24 matches. They need maximum points in their last remaining six matches of the league to avoid relegation and the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and National First Division (NFD) promotional play-offs.
“He is a good player and he will definitely add value in the team. We checked where we are lacking and Ntshumayelo will definitely help us stabilise the midfield because he has experience,” Mphahlele said.
In their last remaining matches of the league, Baroka is expected to face an uphill battle against strong PSL title contenders Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, Bidvest Wits and relegation threatened Maritzburg United, Free State Stars and Amazulu Football Club.
