Baroka Football Club presented Mmutle and Matsobane Primary Schools in Seleteng village, Ga-Mphahlele with brand new chairs, tables and carpets on Monday.
The gesture formed part of the club’s many community development and outreach initiatives.
Chairperson of the club, Khurishi Mphahlele said the donation will improve the conditions at the two schools. “This was our way of giving back to the community. The schools are in our area of operation and they are our neighbours. We are what we are because of people of Ga-Mphahlele. The learners at the two schools are always at our training grounds to support the players. We are community football club, we live with them, we eat what they eat and we struggle together. So the little we have we will share with them,” Mphahlele said.
Club spokesperson, Mogau Maredi said they will be donating school uniforms to impoverished learners in the same area in June.
