Baroka thumps Leopards to move out of relegation zone

Baroka Football Club added misery to Black Leopards Football Club’s relegation woes when they thumped them 2-0 in their 24th match of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
Leopards were eager to win the match and redeem themselves after suffering a 1-2 defeat at the hands of another local contender, Polokwane City Football Club a week ago.
The defeat plummeted Leopards to the last position of the log with a meagre 20 points after 23 matches.
Baroka’s goals were scored by 19-year-old football sensation, Evidence Makgopa one of the leading goal scorers in the Multi Choice Diski Challenge, in the first and second half of the match. The feat sees Baroka moving up two places to position 13th of the PSL.
Alan Clark, caretaker coach of Black Leopards Football Club said they could have won the match but they were let down by the mistakes they made throughout the match. “We made school boys’ errors and it cost us. We defended well throughout the match but we gave them a goal. We gave them the three points and we are frustrated.”
Dylan Kerr, head coach of Baroka Football Club said he was impressed by the overall performance of the players. “Everyone did their part today. We have been working hard at training and I am happy to them playing well. Wining invigorates passion and it will also prompt the players to work hard,” Kerr said.
