16 Medals for Waterberg TVET atheletes

The Waterberg TVET College in conjunction with College Sports South Africa (COSSA) recently hosted the 2016 Limpopo Provincial Track & Field competitions at the Mahwelereng Stadium.

LIMPOPO – All seven TVET Colleges in the province took part in the event and Waterberg TVET College boasts with a second place with a total of 16 medals (eight gold, three silver and five bronze).

Fifteen students will further represent the College in the 2016 COSSA National Track and Field Competitions to be held on the 29 and 31 March in Rustenburg.

“I am proud of our athletes for their great efforts displayed during the competitions and time invested during the preparations, which yielded good results for Waterberg TVET college.” Thabo Moloto, Extra-Curricular Coordinator, said.

The College encourages its students to take part in sports activities because it understands that through participation in sports activities students learn teamwork, sportsmanship, the rewards of hard work, self-discipline, how to build self-confidence, and develop skills to handle competitive situations.

These are qualities that students need to become responsible adults and productive citizens.
