Medal harvest for local gym stars
A total of seven gymnasts of the Marshall Gymnastics Academy (MGA) showed off their gravity-defying skills during the Limpopo Artistic Competition held in Thabazimbi on Saturday and boast a rich medal harvest.
MOKOPANE – The following gymnasts obtained their Limpopo colours: Luan du Plessis, Juandré Ruytenberg, Louis Boshoff, Melody Raats, Lesedi Mashishi and Lize Janse van Rensburg.
These talented gymnasts are now focused on the upcoming SA Gymnastics Games to be held in Cape Town in October.
The gymnasts achieved the following prestigious results: Louis Boshoff (Level 7) scooped up a first place on the floor, a second on the pommel horse, a second on the rings, a second on the vault, a second on the bars, a second on the high bar and second place overall.
Lesedi Mashishi (Level 4) racked in a first place on the vault, a first on the bars, a first on the beam, a first on the floor and boasts with a first place overall.
Lize Janse van Rensburg (Level 5) achieved a third place on the vault, a second on the beam, a third on the floor and a third overall.
Melody Raats (Level 4) clinched a first place on the beam and a second on the floor.
Jan van der Baan (Level 5) obtained a third place on the rings and a third on the vault, Luan du Plessis (Level 6) achieved a third place on the p-bars, Juandré Ruytenberg (Level 6) obtained a second place on the rings and a second place on the vault.
