PSL legends to take on these local masters

THERE will be a soccer match between former Premier Soccer League (PSL) players and local masters at Lephepane

THERE will be a soccer match between former Premier Soccer League (PSL) players and local masters at Lephepane on Sunday, September 29 as part of the annual KLG Heritage Event.

The match is expected to be the main attraction for the 2013 edition of the event.

Spokesperson of the former PSL players’ team, Sidney Moshikaro, who used to play for Ria Stars and Kaizer Chiefs, said they are honoured to feature in the KLG Heritage Event.

“Last year, we really enjoyed ourselves at Lephepane’s Soccer City where thousands of football loving people watched us play. We have no doubt that this year’s event will be even better,” he said.

He said some of the former players expected to visit Lephepane include Dukes Machaka (Ria Stars, City Pillars, Witbank Spurs and Winners Park), Banda Kgasago (Ria Stars), Jacky Ledwaba (Ria Stars and Manning Rangers), Andries Sebola (Mahwelereng Real Rovers and Orlando Pirates), Mike Rapatsa (Kaizer Chiefs), Richard Rantji (Hellenic, Supersport United, Wits University and Mpumalanga Aces), Simon Ramalatso (Ria Stars, City Pillars and Ga-Rankuwa United), Mandla “Simply the Best” Mabena (Real Rovers, Ria Stars and City Pillars), Sidney Malope (Jomo Cosmos and City Pillars) and Stimela Baloyi (Real Rovers, Ria Stars, Jomo Cosmos, Santos and City Pillars).

The local masters team is coordinated by Tebogo Ramoshaba, who said he was certain that the football followers of Lephepane and all areas around Tzaneen will be treated to the finest skills by the experienced players.

The team will comprise players from places like Kgapane, Nkowankowa, Dan, Lenyenye, Tickeyline, Thlabine, Lephepane and Khujwana.

The head of KLG sport, Trilly Mogoboya said some of the local players will include Skero Mocheki (Khujwana), Shane Mahlo (Ga-Rakoma), Owen Mailula (Mothopong), Junior Maake (Tickeyline), Sofaya Makwela, Marula Malatji (Khopho), Reed Rakgoale, Magope Matsebatlela (Lephepane), McGrellis Moloto (Kgapane). Other activities will include the u/14 and grannies’ soccer matches.

“We will hopefully have traditional dance and choir competitions,” said David”Kaizer” Letasoalo, patron of the Kaizer Letsoalo Games.
