Golfers enjoy green course after rain
On Saturday the Three Jacks and a Jill four ball alliance format golf tournament was held at the Polokwane Golf Club, with the course looking fantastic after the recent rains.
POLOKWANE – On Saturday the Three Jacks and a Jill four ball alliance format golf tournament was held at the Polokwane Golf Club, with the course looking fantastic after the recent rains.
The team of Corné Spruyt, Dirk Botha, Freek Veldman and Paul Grobler came out on top with a total of 121 points.
In second place, with 119 points, Raoul van Zyl, Raymond Pratt, Duncan Menzies and Mari Ströh joined the winning ranks.
Third place, with a total of 116 points, went to the team of Luanie van Rooyen, Keith Badenhorst, Riaan Koekemoer and Ferdi Kirsten.
Fourth place, with 115 points, was claimed by Andries du Plessis Snr, Andries du Plessis Jnr, Erard Spies and Belinda Schutte.
Ameer Bava won nearest to the pin on the eighth hole and Ebrahim Hussain was nearest to the pin on the 11th hole.
Desireé Earle won the prize for the longest drive on the seventh hole and Erhard Spies for the longest drive on the 17th hole.
Dirk Botha, Luanie van Rooyen, Andries du Plessis, André Roux (x2), Ameer Bava (x2), Corné Olivier and Raymond Mushaike received two clubs at this tournament.
Fine and Country:
This better ball stableford match rained out on Wednesday which resulted in the winners being determined after only 13 holes.
The winners, with a total of 35 points, were Keith Badenhorst and Malabani Pataki.
In second place were Attie Buitendag and Wimpie Knoesen on 33 points and Mike Nunes and Rampie Smit took third place with 33 points on a count-out.
The prizes for longest drives were awarded to Malabani Pataki on the second hole and Jannie Bronkhorst on the 17th hole.
The prizes for the players nearest to the pin went to Bernard Steyn Jnr on the eighth hole and Vincent Olley on the 11th hole.
The players who scored two clubs in this match were Attie Buitendag, Vincent Olley, Julias Mapatha, Keith Badenhorst, Ameer Bava, Abuzi Baba, Piet Bronkhorst and Corné Olivier.
