POLOKWANE – Muditambi Ravele is a single parent and a former teacher who has left a mark in the sport industry.
She will be one of the speakers at the first annual Limpopo Business Symposium.
Muditambi started her teaching career at Reitumetse High School in Soshanguve, where she taught from 1986 to 1995. She then joined the national department of sport and recreation as an assistant director, sports advancement.
She initiated women and sport projects in the department, and was later appointed as national coordinator of Women and Sport South Africa (Wassa), which was launched in 1997.
She was then appointed by the former minister for sport and recreation, Steve Tshwete as the chairperson for Women and Sport South Africa’s Steering Council.
She was elected as the chairperson for Supreme Council for Sport in Africa, Zone VI Women and Sports Interim Committee in 1996 and then vice-chairperson from 1998 to 1999.
Muditambi assisted in the formation of the women’s committee in most of the Zone VI (SADC) countries and ran workshops within some of those countries.
Between 2000 and 2001, she was again appointed as a chairperson of Zone VI until October 2001, when she resigned from both WASSA and Zone VI.
