Lim FETs set to play hard ball

LIMPOPO Further Education and Training College (FET) athletes recently completed the last stages of preparations to represent Limpopo at national level during the annual College Sport South Africa (Cossa) tournament in September.

Bloemfontein will be the host of this famous four day sports festival.

The date of the tournament will be announced at a later date when planning is completed.

The Limpopo FET athletes finished their final preparations over the weekend at Polokwane’s various sports grounds.

According to Cossa Limpopo chairperson, Joe Sathekge, the province will participate in sporting codes ranging from softball represented by Waterberg FET, pool by Mopani FET, chess by Mopani FET, table tennis by Sekhukhune FET, rugby by Mopani FET as well as volleyball women’s teams represented by Capricorn FET and men’s teams by Lephalale FET.

He said basketball men’s teams will be represented by Lephalale FET and the women’s teams by Mopani FET.

Netball will be represented by Waterberg FET while soccer will be the responsibility of Mopani FET.

Sathekge spoke at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday and said Limpopo was the current Cossa netball champions. He said and Waterberg FET assured him that they would retain the title.

Another focus point will be rugby after Limpopo bagged silver last year. Sathekge said Mopani FET promised to do well in this sport.
