Prokart racing returns to city in exciting event on July 12

The Prokart Super Single Endurance Kart Series will bring close wheel-to-wheel racing to Polokwane on July 12.

POLOKWANE – The Prokart Super Single Endurance Kart Series will bring close wheel-to-wheel racing to Polokwane on July 12.

Round six of the endurance karting series will take place at the Polokwane cart circuit on the Silicon road.

The series, the only endurance kart series in South Africa, is now in its 15th year.

A feature of the series is that all karts use standard sealed four-stroke motors, control tyres and minimum weight requirements, which ensure equal equipment.

Winning is down to driver skill, good preparation and race strategy. Refuelling stops and compulsory driver changes are the order of the day in this gruelling six-hour race.

Coming into round six, championships leaders, NFE/Maxspeed will be hoping to extend their lead over second place winners, Motul Honda SA.

Team Kart Shoppe, Hoffmann Racing, Tonykart Containerforce will all be hoping for strong showing on the day to overhaul the leaders. Ever improving Team Logan and BP Apex racing will be hoping to continue their recent good form.

Practise and qualifying commences at 08:30, with the race starting at 10:00.

Gates open at 07:00 with an entrance fee of R20 for adults and R10 for children.

Refreshments will be available at the track.
