POLOKWANE – Some 76 golfers gathered at the Polokwane Golf Club on Wednesday to battle it out during the Review Golf Challenge

Morné Myburgh claimed the first place in this challenge with 40 points.

He was followed by Janneman Groenewaldt with 39 points on a count-out. The third spot was occupied by Craig Hawken after collecting 39 points on a count-out. Groenewaldt also claimed one of the prizes for playing nearest to the pin on the fourth hole, while Ben Hattingh claimed the prize for playing nearest to pin on the 11th hole.

No one managed to get their hands on the Review jackpot of R2 500 and the prize still stands. The draw for the jackpot was done by Steve Rudd.

Polokwane Golf Club captain, Goitsemang Motseki announced that the golf club would be closed for the public from Friday, June 27 until Monday, July 7 as there will be various championships taking place on the course.

The South African u/17 boys’ championships will take place from June 29 to July 3, while the SAB Sundowner Championships will take place on July 4.

The Mikes Chicken Monthly medal challenge will take place on July 5, while the longest drive competition for the first hole will take place on July 7.

A cash prize of R4 500 will be at stake for this longest drive competition.
