Mopecha Young Stars tops Greater Tzaneen league

MOPECHA Young Stars moved to the top of the Greater Tzaneen Local Football League stream B log standings after a 4-2 win over Motupa Young Stars at Mohlahlego Machaba High School ground last Saturday. It wasn’t an easy day for the visitors against a determined Motupa, but their pace and skill eventually wore down the Reuben Moloto-coached team.

Alu Malatji scored a brace, while his Mopecha teammates, Enocent Mohale and Bongani “Shusha” Mongwe netted a goal each. Motupa’s goals came through Prince Ramolefo and Ronny “Mido” Monyela. The Lerejeng-based Mopecha are currently leading log standings with 55 points accumulated from 24 games and are closely followed by Abino Video Kids with 55 points from 23 games. Dynamic Bullets and BraP were awarded three points and two goals each after Mhlongo Young Stars and Great Sam failed to honour their respective match fixtures.

On Sunday, Hill Zebras conceded two own goals against Mohlakeng Aces at Mapitlula ground. Meanwhile, this Sunday, Mabese hosts Runners City at Relela, while Mohlakeng Aces travel to Mavele to play against Meadobank. Hill Zebras come up against Mabetha at Runnymade, while Sampdoria take on Motupa Young Stars in a local derby at the Mohlahlego Machaba High School grounds. Current log leaders, Mopecha welcome Mhlongo Young Stars at Lerejeng, while Dynamic Bullets face BraP at Moleketla. Great Sam plays at home against Abino Video Kids. Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00.
