Cyclists raise awareness of car-free time

The second Critical Mass cycling event took place on Friday evening departing from Platinum Park.

POLOKWANE – The second Critical Mass cycling event took place on Friday evening departing from Platinum Park.

The cyclists rode through Polokwane in a convoy with lights on their bikes to illuminate the streets and to bring into focus safety and car-free social time on the city streets.

“We are raising awareness for cyclists on the road and just enjoying a social ride,” said André Hanekom.

Critical Mass is held every last Friday of the month in most major cities around the world. Polokwane joined the initiative in May.

The next Critical Mass cycle event will take place on July 25.
