Black Leopards return to their Venda home

NATIONAL First Division club, Black Leopards, has finally realised their dream of returning to their ancestral home ground – the Thohoyandou Stadium.
The decision to move to Thohoyandou was taken at the club’s board of directors meeting last weekend.
Instead of announcing the new head coach after the meeting, the board announced the decision to move the club’s home fixtures to Venda.
For the past three seasons Lidoda Duvha management has been contemplating the move back to their roots but the venue was never ready for their return; until now.
Lidoda Duvha made their name playing at the 35 000 capacity venue and if what Leopards spokesperson, Barry Ramunenyiwa, said is anything to go by, the move is just what the club needs to plot their way back into the Premier Soccer League.
“The Thohoyandou Stadium will be our killing ground and the venue suits the culture of the team perfectly,” Ramunenyiwa said.
Ramunenyiwa added that although the club will play their home games in Thohoyandou, their offices will remain in Polokwane.
Lidoda Duvha used the Peter Mokaba Stadium during their tenure in the PSL two seasons ago, but opted for the Makhuvha Stadium during the past season.
With the Premier Soccer League declaring this venue unfit to host PSL matches, the David Thidiela owned club moved their home fixtures to Giyani Stadium.
