Rule book set aside as golfers take to green for corporate golf day

POLOKWANE – The second Ricoh and BCM Digisol corporate golf day took place at the Polokwane Golf Club on July 31.
More than 150 golfers and BCM Digisol customers participated in the competition.
During the match, the rulebook had to be consulted after Thys Manders’s shot wandered off the course and ended up in the bar. It was decided that he had to drop a shot to continue.
In the end, Werner Erasmus and Gerhard Els won first place with 53 points, followed by Keith Badenhorst and Riaan Koekemoer on 52 points.
Willie Marx and Wiaan Marx took third place on 51 points, followed by Duane and Cynthia Viljoen in fourth place.
Brian O’Reily and Gordon Ferns were fifth with 48 points on a count-in, followed by Piet du Toit and Glen Wynne also with 48 points in sixth place.
Ryan Chandler and Shaun Mouton won prizes for the longest drive on holes seven and 18 respectively.
Nico Myburgh and Pat Molepo won the nearest to the pin competition. Myburgh also won the nearest to the copier competition.
The prize for most golf went to Gerhard Els and Neil Anderson, who scored five points.
