Benny’s off to SA finals for the 4th time

Benny's Care Sports Development Academy from the Vhembe district were once again crowned the winners of the Sanlam Kay Motsepe u/19 Limpopo tournament for the fourth time.

POLOKWANE – Benny’s Care Sports Development Academy from the Vhembe district were once again crowned the winners of the Sanlam Kay Motsepe u/19 Limpopo tournament for the fourth time.

They were also the provincial winners in 2010, 2012 and 2013.

The tournament took place at the Seshego Stadium on Saturday, where each district in the province had a team that represented it.

Benny’s Care walked away with R10 0000 and gold medals.

They will also participate in the South African finals in Pretoria in October where R1 million is up for grabs.

Madikele Secondary School represented the Mopani district, Ramathope Secondary School represented the Capricorn district, Batau Secondary School represented the Sekhukhune district and Matanta Secondary School represented the Waterberg district.

Madikele ended in second place, while Ramathope took third place.

In the opening match of the tournament, Benny’s Care defeated Batau 3-1,

Madikele beat Matanta 3-2 in the second match, while Ramathope beat Batau 2-1 in the third match.

In the fourth match, Benny’s Care won 4-1 against Matanta and beat Ramathope 2-1 in the fifth match.

In the finals, Benny’s Care played against Madikele, where the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Madikele lost 4-3 in penalties.

David Mufamadi, Benny’s Care Sport Development Academy managing director, said they prepared thoroughly for the tournament.

“The tournament was played in a round robin format and all the teams went all out to claim the prize.

“We have full-time coaches and this is why we succeed in big tournaments.

“We recently build a school hall, which was build with the money we won in the 2012 and 2013 tournaments,” said Mufamadi.
