Talent on the field

MOLEMOLE Academy recently held open soccer trials at the Noorderlikes Rugby Club, where 36 young players were selected to join the academy

MOLEMOLE Academy recently held open soccer trials at the Noorderlikes Rugby Club, where 36 young players were selected to join the academy.

The selected players will undergo training at the academy, which is affiliated with the South African Football Association (Safa).

The trials where attended by over 100 players from the age of 12 and older.

The academy’s development coach, Dominic Ramokgopa, development fitness coach, Evans Mufamadi, director, Devon Mulaudzi and senior team captain, Jimmy Mporetse were in charge of the trials.

According to Ramokgopa, the aim of the trials was to find talented young players to develop into professional soccer players.

“I am very impressed with these young boys. They are the future. We love to build winning teams and to get players to the next level,” said Ramokgopa.

He said the players were selected based on their performances during the trials.

“We believe it is even more important to teach character and good work ethics to help our players become outstanding citizens as well as stars on the soccer field.

“We teach our players to show respect to their teammates, opponents, coaches and officials.

“We prepare the players to be ready to work in harmony with their peers and with their coaches, so that they can be prepared for any social situation.

“Our aim is to reach out as far as Burgersfort, Lebowakgomo, Moletjie and Thohoyandou soon,” he said.

The next trials will be held in November.
