POLOKWANE – BB Truck Noordelikes Rugby Club suffered a 38-12 defeat at the hands of the team of the University of Johannesburg (UJ) on Saturday.
The two teams played a friendly game at the Noordelikes’ rugby fields in Polokwane as warm-up for the season that lies ahead.
The game started off at a brisk pace with both teams pushing towards the try lines. However, the UJ team was able to sustain the pace and soon dominated the game.
Noordelikes head coach, Freek Romijn, said his team played well even if they did not win the game. “The next three weeks will be busy for our team, because we will have to work hard to prepare for the tournaments that lay ahead. We have a well-balanced team and talented players. I believe we will have a great year this year,” he said.
