Eagar swimmers make a good impression at gala

Swimmers of the Eagar Aquatics Club took part in the Shamu Sprints Gala on February 14 and impressed spectators with their outstanding results.

POLOKWANE – Swimmers of the Eagar Aquatics Club took part in the Shamu Sprints Gala on February 14 and impressed spectators with their outstanding results.

The swimmers brought an amazing total of 20 gold medals, 20 silver medals and 20 bronze medals home from this gala.

 

Eagar Aquatics record setters:

Ayden Jordaan, boys 10 years:

• 50 m butterfly in 37,55 seconds.

• 100 m individual medley in 1,24 minutes.

• 50 m freestyle in 33,06 seconds.

Anthony Clayton, boys seven years:

• 25 m backstroke in 24,72 seconds.

• 25 m breast stroke in 28,53 seconds.

Ashleigh Hunter, girls 15 years old and older:

• 50 m butterfly in 31,76 seconds.

• 100 m individual medley in 1,13 minutes.

• 50 m freestyle in 29,93 seconds.

Laura Lennox girls 15 years old and older:

• 50 m breast stroke in 36,56 seconds.

Eagar Aquatics swimmers train under the watchful eye of coaches, Douggie Eagar and Ilani Swanepoel.

“We are extremely proud of our swimmers. They had a great season so far. We cannot wait to see what they will achieve in the national events taking place in March,” said Swanepoel.
