Darts players ready for SA’s

POLOKWANE – Limpopo’s darts players gathered at Mimosa Hall to compete in an open darts tournament recently.
This tournament served as a warm-up before to the Limpopo darts league and Limpopo open darts tournament kicked off on Saturday.
The trials and the tournaments served as preparation for the South African Darts Championship to take place in Johannesburg in July.
Roelof Burger, the South African singles darts champion, is a member of the Limpopo team that will compete in the nationals. Burger will be defending his title and he has already started preparing for the championships.
Sanna Viljoen, Limpopo Darts public relations officer, said the players were committed and always supported the trials and darts tournaments enthu-siastically.
She added that they were planning to introduce the sport at schools so that it could grow. They were still looking for players to join.
“We train on Mondays and Wednesdays and anyone who is interested in joining can come to Mimosa Hall to start practising with us,” Viljoen said. To find out more or to join contact Viljoen at 072 066 6466.
