Musina muni winners of volleyball trophy

THE Musina Municipality volleyball team is in high spirits after winning the Sanlam Volleyball Competition at the Musina army base last Friday.

MUSIN – THE Musina Municipality volleyball team is in high spirits after winning the Sanlam Volleyball Competition at the Musina army base last Friday.

Their brilliant tactics and determination paid off when they walked away as winners of a tournament that included teams from the defence force and the Vhembe Fire Fighters.

Musina Municipality won their first game against the defence force 2-1 and their second game against Vhembe Fire Fighters 3-0.

Percy Choma, a Musina Municipality team member, said he was overwhelmed with joy after his team on.

“This is just the beginning. Our plan is to win as many trophies as possible to make sure that we put our municipality on the map. This was a very tough competition, but we emerged victorious,” he said.

Choma’s sentiments were echoed by teammate, Teboho Nthala who said: “We finally have something to brag about as a team. Our hard work and training have indeed paid off”.

The chairperson of the Musina Municipality sports committee, Bennie Tlou, congratulated his team and encouraged the players to take the legacy of Musina Municipality forward.

“It is not everyday that we get to celebrate together as municipal workers.

“We hope members of other teams within the municipality will learn positive lessons from the winning team,” said Tlou.
