Pillars find students’ weak zone

RAY Pillars beat the University of Limpopo FC 1-0 during their SAB match played at the Oscar Mpetha Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

LIMPOPO – RAY Pillars beat the University of Limpopo FC 1-0 during their SAB match played at the Oscar Mpetha Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams played an attacking game from the onset, with the students missing brilliant opportunities in the first half of the match.

Ray Pillars capitalised on the students’ mistakes to score a goal in the 43th minute of the match through Kgadi Ngoetjana after receiving a good pass from Victor Sethosa.

Pillars coach Pitsi ‘Pax’ Legora congratulated the team on a good performance.

“There is always room for improvement and team work is important because players need to communicate while they are on the ground.”

According to UL FC coach Danny ‘Strada’ Dhlamini, the team didn’t manage the game well and did not play to their strength.

“We need to work as a team and constantly read the game.”

He said losing a home game is never a good thing and although the first half was played sloppy, the team improved in the second half although it was a matter of too little, too late.
